Battlefield 2042 Tech Test Canceled On PS5 Due To Critical Error

Closed technical testing of the shooter Battlefield 2042which took place this weekend, as it turned out, was canceled for Playstation 5

The situation was explained by the leading community manager DICE Adam Freeman. According to him, PS5 benchmark was recalled at the last minute due to a “critical issue” in the game’s build

“We have already identified a critical issue with our PlayStation 5 build and notified users that we will not be testing the PlayStation 5 this weekend,” the August 14 post said.

“Thanks to PlayStation players who signed up for the first time. Please keep an eye on the EA Playtesting website for any future playtests we are planning.”

Shooter testing began on Thursday at Xbox Series X / S and PC in a selective order for a limited number of users registered on EA Playtasting… According to Freeman, the test version performed well in the first 48 hours of launch on PC. The developers have successfully tested server scaling and received a lot of positive feedback. At the same time, there were reports that the alpha version of Battlefield 2042 for the Xbox Series ran much smoother than on the PC.… Insider Tom Henderson speaks about this, in particular, but it should be borne in mind that the situation should be improved by beta and release.

The BF2042 technical playtests were originally planned for July, but have been postponed to give developers time to debug crossplay. Alpha was conducted under an NDA with a ban on the publication of any materials, although it was still not possible to avoid leaks of gameplay.

Open beta testing of the shooter will take place in September. Full exit will take place 22 of October
