Attack on Sackboy: Hackers hacked LittleBigPlanet servers, Sony went to extreme measures

Company Sony temporarily shut down the server Littlebigplanet due to ongoing hacker attacks.

“Due to the severity of the recent attacks, we have no choice but to temporarily disable the game servers,” the developers said on social media.

Apparently, we are talking about offensive messages that attackers sent out players via in-game notifications… The authors noted that they are not going to ignore what happened, especially when the situation concerns the affected community members.

In the end of April Eurogamer drew attention to an issue with LittleBigPlanet server outages, due to which users from about the beginning of March experienced difficulties accessing online features in the games in the series. Community members blamed a DDOS attack allegedly carried out by one of the disgruntled players, but the company did not openly admit this, saying only that it was dealing with the problem.

On Friday, May 21st, the developers reported that some community members are still experiencing server issues and confirmed that new attacks are already being investigated.
