ASUS laptops will receive AMD Renoir hybrid processors – review

Recently became knownthat company AMD prepares a range of mobile hybrid processors Renoir for laptops and desktops. It is expected that these chips will appear in early 2023 and will be presented in four versions: with a heat packet of 15 and 45 watts for laptops, as well as with a TDP of 35 and 65 watts for a PC.
And now appeared information that company Asus preparing the first laptops GA401 and GA502 based on eight Ryzen 9 4900H and Ryzen 7 4800H with multithreading and a heat packet of 45 watts. Base models are also expected. Ryzen 7 4800HS.

Little is known about the laptops themselves, but it is reported that they will receive 16 GB of RAM, 1 TB of permanent memory and Windows 10. The cost of the model based on 4800HS is 1904 euros (about 131.5 thousand rubles at the current rate), but there is no guarantee that it will not change at the time of release. More powerful solutions are expected to be more expensive.

If this information is correct, then AMD may well compete with Intel not only in the segment of workstations and servers, but also in the mobile field. It remains to wait for the release of new laptops to evaluate them objectively.
