ASUS announces ROG Phone 5s and ROG 5s Pro gaming smartphones on Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+

ASUS introduced a line of smartphones ROG Phone 5s, consisting of two models – basic and Pro. The hardware is based on a chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ with frequency 3 GHz and graphics subsystem Adreno 660

Main technical characteristics

  • 8, 12 or 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM;
  • 128 or 256 GB of internal storage UFS 3.1;
  • 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2448 by 1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a response time of 1 ms;
  • the main triple camera is 64, 13 and 5 megapixels and the front one is 24 megapixels;
  • 6000 mAh battery with fast charging up to 65 W;
  • support for two SIM cards, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX and NFC;
  • USB-C port and 3.5 mm audio jack;
  • dimensions 172.8 x 77.2 x 10.29 mm;
  • weight 238 g.

Smartphone displays have the lowest latency on the market at just 24.3ms. This is made possible by increasing the sampling rate of the touchscreen from 300 Hz to 360 Hz.

ROG Phone 5s Pro has an additional PMOLED display on the back and two touch sensors for controlling the game. In the base model, they are replaced by the Republic of Gamers with RGB backlighting.

The older version has an LPDDR5 RAM increased to 18 GB, a 512 GB UFS 3.1 drive and comes with a cooler. Basic – only comes with a 65 W charger and an Aero case.
