“Asshole of these bastards”: Creator of God of War supported receiving threat developer The Last of Us: Part II

Development Manager and Screenwriter The Last of Us: Part II Neil Drackmann received several death threats. The developer indirectly confirmed this information on his Twitter account, when between him and the author of the latter God of War Corey Barlog started a dialogue to one of the PlayStation posts.

It all started when Drakmann retweeted a recent PlayStation account message with a reminder of the upcoming release of the samurai action Ghost of tushushaturning to the studio Sucker punch productions for an early copy of the game. Soon Corey Barlog appeared in the comments, asking him to record him in the distribution as well.

To this, the creator of The Last of Us: Part II answered Barlog that he allegedly “did not fulfill the quota for the number of death threats received,” advising him to try next year. The barlog, for its part, supported Drackmann’s emoji with a heart and a GIF from the TV show “American Gods” with the phrase “in the ass of these bastards”.

Threats raining down on Drackmann are probably related to the recent discharge of The Last of Us: Part II. At the end of last month, unknown people who later turned out to be hackers posted several hours of gameplay videos on the network, as a result of which some plot twists became known to the public before the release, including those related to the ending of the story, and people reacted ambiguously to this. They had several reasons for dissatisfaction: one part of the fans was upset by the fact of the leak, while others were disappointed with what they saw in the merged materials. At the same time, the latter turned out to be more active in manifesting their annoyance, starting to bombard the accounts of Drackmann, Naughty Dog and Sony with angry comments and dislikes, to which the The Last of Us 2 game director actually invited all the indignant not to buy the game. The grades counter for the latest project trailer on the main and regional YouTube channels of the PlayStation is disabled.

The Last of Us: Part II Released June 19th exclusive to PlayStation 4.
