Apple Changes Key App Store Rules In Response To App Developers’ Class Action Lawsuit

Apple agreed to change several ground rules for the App Store as part of a settlement with developers who filed a class action lawsuit against the company in 2019. Cupertino allowed users to send emails and tell users about payment methods outside of iOS apps.

In addition, Apple has pledged to publish annual store transparency reports detailing the bounce rate and app review process in the App Store.

Recall that the ban on in-app purchases bypassing the App Store caused a lawsuit between Apple and Epic Games. Cupertino noted that the agreement with the developers does not affect this case, despite the fact that it is led by one judge.
