Another successful indie: Dark Souls-style action platformer Blasphemous attracts 1 million players

According to the latest information, since its release in September 2019, the project has attracted a total of 1 million players all over the world. To please the developers with the results of their work, Team17 sent each team member a memorable gift in the form of a frame, where the achievement of the project is marked. A special video was dedicated to this event.

Blasphemous looks like Dark Souls in 2D, but it actually combines elements of action, platforming, metroidvania and hardcore gameplay. The events of the project take place in the lands of Kvstodia filled with darkness and despair, and the protagonist is the Penitent, the only survivor of the Silent Grief massacre. According to the plot, the lone hero falls into the trap of an endless cycle of death and rebirth, and now he has to save the world from a terrible fate, reaching the cause of all torment. In Blasphemous, players must explore nightmarish locations, uncover secrets and secrets, and use deadly combos to brutally slay hordes of monsters and giant bosses ready to tear the Penitent to pieces.

Blasphemous is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
