Animal Crossing, StarCraft, and Microsoft Flight Simulator Hit World Video Game Hall of Fame

National Museum The strong in New York added four more projects to the World Video Game Hall of Fame that have had major impact on pop culture and the interactive entertainment industry.

This year’s Life Simulator is the laureates Animal crossing (2001), civil aviation simulator Microsoft Flight Simulator (1982), sci-fi strategy Starcraft (1998) and educational and recreational game Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? (1985).

According to the Commission of the World Video Games Hall of Fame, the lightness and ease of Animal Crossing made it attractive for any gender and age, Microsoft Flight Simulator allowed for the first time to travel through the sky on airplanes without even leaving home, and StarCraft brought a new round of development to the formula of strategy games and became revolutionizing multiplayer titles. Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego ?, the project has made geography an exciting experience for millions of students around the world.

Other final selection nominees also included Call of Duty, FarmVille, FIFA International Soccer, Guitar Hero, Mattel Football, Pole Position, Portal, and Tron. All these games in the future will be able to once again qualify for the Hall of Fame.
