Andy Serkis hinted that the new “Batman” will be darker than previous versions

Andy Serkis talked about his vision Alfred at Batman Matt Reeves and hinted at what the tone of the film would be.
According to Serkis, one can safely say that the new version of the history of the Dark Knight will be somewhat darker than the previous ones. This turn is not surprising, given that the basis of the tape seems to lie in the story “Long Halloween”where Batman is chasing a killer.

The actor also added that the story itself is largely tied to the emotional connection between Bruce and his butler Alfred. Moreover, Serkis tries not to repeat what the previous actors achieved, who embodied this image on the screen.

So, Serkis really likes the character version Michael KaneHowever, he himself could not have created a similar version of the hero. From his point of view, this role recalls working with Shakespeare, since the actors find their own interpretation of his characters, played many times before.

In the end, the actor noted that when the shooting was stopped due to the coronavirus, he managed to remove exactly half of his part. And, in his opinion, “the film should be wonderful.”

The premiere of the new “Batman” will be held in October 2023.
