Ampere GPU will produce TSMC, and Hopper – Samsung – review

Chinese resource ChinaTimes reports new details about future GPUs NVIDIA Ampere and Hopper. The former will allegedly be based on a 7-nanometer manufacturing process. TSMC, while the second – on a 5-nanometer Samsung using EUV lithography.

More about this is expected to become known during a speech by company CEO Jensen Huang, which will be published in mid-May. However, the announcement of the video cards themselves based on the new GPUs will probably happen later.

ChinaTimes clarifies that NVIDIA has been confirmed as one of the largest customers for TSMC’s 7nm chips. Samsung independently confirmed that it would launch the production of 5-nanometer chips in the second half of this year.

Note that now many companies are actively selling RTX video cards, which with a high degree of probability indicates the imminent release of new accelerators of the 3000th line. It is expected that they will appear on the market in August-September.
