A resident of the Lipetsk region was sued for reselling a PS3. This is the second incident in a year.

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Lipetsk sentenced a local resident who tried to resell a hacked console Playstation 3… This is reported by the edition Gorod48.ru.

The man bought a used console, hoping to make money on resale. To do this, he decided to reflash the PlayStation by downloading special software from the Internet.

For the sale of the console, the merchant rescued 9.5 thousand rubles. But the buyer turned out to be a policeman who took part in the “Test Purchase” search operation.

“Pirate” was immediately detained, after which a criminal case was opened, accusing him of “illegal access to computer information” and “the use and distribution of malicious computer programs.”

However, the investigation filed a motion to terminate the criminal case, which was upheld by the court. The defendant pleaded guilty and compensated for the damage.

The jailbroken PS3 is to be destroyed, and a resident of Lipetsk will have to pay a fine of 20 thousand rubles.

Interestingly, this is already the second resident of the Lipetsk region in the past few months, who was sued for trying to sell a flashed PlayStation. In May, a resident of the Lebedyansky District was ordered to pay a fine of 20 thousand rubles.
