a conflict arose between DOOM Eternal composer Mick Gordon and Bethesda – review

Over the weekend, owners of a collector’s edition Doom eternal got a shooter soundtrack, but many were unsatisfied with the quality of its information.
One user on Twitter told for example track versions Bfg division 2016 and 2023 that one of his personal problems with the new album was a more sterile sound.

For example, the novelty has a lower volume range, which is why all the instruments sound at about the same level. Because of this, it is difficult to hear each individual instrument, although in the 2016 version of the track the range is much wider. This is not to mention that the tracks as a whole were highly compressed.

Game composer Mick Gordon did not stand aside and answered criticizing the soundtrack, saying that he almost did not mix the album, only having his hand in several tracks – Meathook, Command and Control and some others.

You can see the difference in the few tracks that I have mixed.

Along with this, a screenshot of personal correspondence with Gordon appeared on Reddit, which doubts that it will ever work on the soundtrack Doom.

Considering the criticism of the DOOM Eternal soundtrack, which will appear on streaming services in the coming weeks, and Gordon’s doubts about future collaboration with Bethesda or id Software, the musician and the publisher may have some conflict.

Mick Gordon worked with Bethesda on soundtracks and other shooters: Prey (2017) and three Wolfenstein – The New Order, The Old Blood and The New Colossus.
